FAQ's and Guide to Whippet Racing
With a slight change to the racing format in 2009, the club is looking forward to welcoming many new visitors and members on race days. To assist in this, we are providing this basic guide to the way race days work, as well as answering a few of the most commonly asked questions.
Question: Can I bring my dogs other than my whippet to the Track?
Answer: Yes. There is a minimal Entry fee of $5.00 per adult member to help cover the costs of track hire. This fee is non-applicable to first time guests who have come to visit and experience whippet racing for the first time.
GENERAL GUIDELINES:
Members and visitors are advised of the following basic restrictions and requirements for race days.
*** Members are reminded that all Whippets over 12months must wear a muzzle whenever they are not restrained in a car, trailer or holding cage. Visitors will be able to either borrow muzzles or will be allowed to go without a muzzle at the discretion of the stewards.
*** Members and Guests are reminded that all Whippets must be restrained and deemed under control by the Stewards at all times. This means a satisfactory Lead and Coller when not in a vehicle or holding Pen.
*** All Whippet owners are asked to park away from any Greyhound people who may be finishing trials when you Arrive. If Greyhound trials are still in progress, we remind you that all whippets MUST remain in your vehicle until the Trials are completed.

Question: I have a pet whippet, can he run on race day?
Answer: Yes! Any whippet over the age of 9 months is permitted to have a run on race day (in the form of a trial). Trial's take place following the scheduled sprint and distance races. The cost per whippet is $5.00. (This allows for a sprint and distance trial)
Question: Is there an entry fee and if so how much?
Answer: Yes you can, however we do ask that all non-whippets be controlled and restrained at all times, and where possible away from the marshalling area where the whippets are getting ready to race.
